Overview

Although the SARS-COV-2 pandemic is not really 'over' ... the massive investment in developing vaccines to target this virus has the potential to turn the vaccine 'landscape' on its head over the coming years. Many new platforms and approaches were validated thorugh the pandemic that will be applied to a wide range of other vaccine-preventable diseases including both existing targets and new targets.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Better understand the successes and failures of the novel vaccine platforms introduced during the SARS-COV-2 pandemic
  • Appreciate how these new technologies and novel approaches to vaccination may influence practice in the coming decade
  • Reassume vaccine-hesitant and -resistant patients reagrding the benefit-risk profile of these novel vaccines
