Overview

An interactive case-based session that highlights one physician's approach to managing two issues commonly arising on-call, namely dyspnea/hypoxia, and fever/sepsis. The goal of this lecture is to help hospitalists hone their on-call skills with tips and tricks to deal with these two potentially life-threatening, yet common issues.

Objectives

This session is geared toward inpatient hospitalist care.

1. To identify and treat medical issues requiring prompt attention.

2. Approach to new or worsening dyspnea/hypoxia.

3. Approach to new fever and sepsis.
