Overview
Over 170000 hip and knee joint replacements were completed in canada last year with a total cost to Canadians of 1.26 billion dollars, excluding rehabilitation.
This course will allow you to identify and prepare patients for knee replacement surgery. We will review a preoperative plan for patients to prepare for their surgery to ensure the best recovery possible.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
Identify candidates that could benefit from knee joint replacement
Understand the importance of a preoperative preparation program
Educate patients on how to prepare for surgery
